Spain Continues Its Fight Against Tourism With 10% VAT on Holiday Rentals From December 1
Spain has found a new lever to pull against the holiday let. From December 1, 2026, short-stay tourist rentals will pay 10% value-added tax, the same rate hotels already charge. Until now most of them paid none.
