LONDON , May 30, 2022 – International Mountain Tourism Day activity kicked off online on May 27 and continued through May 29. It was commissioned by the International Mountain Tourism Alliance (IMTA).
Events took place online and in-person globally. She focused on the concept of “post-pandemic tourism reconstruction”, “restarting healthy lifestyles” and “reconnecting intercontinental dialogue”, highlighting the theme “Mountain tourism promotes a health and cultural exchanges”.
The events were supported by the World Travel and Tourism Council (WTTC) and the International Nordic Walking Federation (INWA). The head of the Ministry of Culture and Tourism of the People’s Republic of China, Shao Qiwei-Vice- chairman of AIMT, Lu Yongzheng-member of the standing committee of the CPC Guizhou provincial committee and head of the publicity department of the committee Provincial of CPC Guizhou, He Yafei- Secretary General of IMTA, Maribel Rodriguez-WTTC Senior Vice President, Membership & Commercial, Aki Karihtala – President of INWA, Ambassador of Georgia to China, Deputy Chief of Mission of the Embassy of Israel in China shared their constructive conversations and experiences.
In addition, the events brought together AMTI members, destination institutions and agencies, businesses and experts across five continents. Delegates and guests from more than 30 countries conducted multi-dimensional, multi-level and diverse interactions around the theme and the three main topics to discuss, build and share the bright future of mountain tourism.
The events were simultaneously broadcast on Facebook and YouTube as well as Chinese platforms such as Cultural Tourism China APP, the official Weibo of Cultural Tourism China, Tencent and Baidu. Rebroadcasting of the events could be done through Discovery China’s account on social media platforms.
